When traversing the wilderness, the view of the party can be obstructed by deep forest and mountain ranges. It is not uncommon to encounter Monsters in the Wilderness as well that can attack you. You can also encounter characters to talk with regarding quest items.
Use the Teleport spell to move to or out of areas that cannot be reached. For example, to move to a dungeon surrounded by mountains the teleport spell can be used to move the characters on the mountain range.
Movement and actions in indoor locations are similar to the wilderness location, with the exception you cannot enter additional locations. To exit an indoor location, you need to move the character icon off the location map to the North or South.

Castles or keeps are areas where is not uncommon to find quest being delivered to the party. They are also good location to get information about the land. It is not uncommon to find nobility and scholars alike in these locations. It is not uncommon to have buried chests in the game, scholars in particular know a lot about the going on in the land.
Castles are typically bastions of safe havens - you will not be attacked in a castle or keep, however there could be adventures where a castle has been corrupted, and you need to go on the attack.
Towns are key locations in the game for commerce, rumors and even quest items. To purchase goods and services you must first talk to the character in the location, if they have something for sale you will see the $ button appear in the chat window. It is common to find the following types of location ins towns:
Taverns: Taverns are good locations for rumors, information. In addition, purchases at a tavern restore health and magic points.
Healers: Healers can provide restoration of strength and magic points much faster than going to a tavern.
Weapon Shops: Buy armor and weapons for your adventure. Note that not every weapon or armor item can be purchased by each player. Wizards for example are limited to leather armor and staffs.
Magic Shops: Wizards can purchase spells if they have enough intelligence.
Towns are peaceful havens from the wilds found in the land. You will not be attacked in a town, but there may be times where you need to attack when negotiations fail.
Dungeons are wild locations where it's not uncommon to find characters and monsters alike. Be aware dungeons are not peaceful locations and monsters will go on the attack against your party, chasing them down. it is also not uncommon to find chests with treasure in dungeons.
Some dungeons have been Sealed by magical means and the only way to enter them is to unseal them first. To unseal a dungeon, you must find the dungeon seal in the adventure or try to successfully cast an Unseal spell.
Sight is also limited in dungeons. However, you can use the light spell to temporarily get full visibility to a dungeon.
Ruins are fallen keeps and castles. It is not uncommon to find nothing, characters or monsters in a ruin. While not guarded, similar to towns you will not get attacked first in a ruin.
Shrines are always peaceful and quiet. Shrines appear at Level 2 and have an alter the team can use for wisdom, full healing and revealing a spell to a Paladin. Shrines are the only location for Paladins to gain spells. A shrine in an adventure can only be used once.
When entering a location, you can read a description describing it in the Description window in the game along with the name of the location. It is not uncommon for characters to refer to these locations in your dialog with them.
